Our story.

In the early 2000s, Sara began looking for products she felt good about using every day. Drawn to simpler ingredients and the benefits of plants, she started making her own.

What began as handcrafted jewelry, candles, body care, and screen-printed goods became Makery Thirteen in 2017.

Today, we create small-batch essentials rooted in a simple belief: the goods we use every day should contribute to our well-being.

Shop Essential Goods

Our work extends beyond products.

We believe the goods we use every day should contribute to our well-being, and that the products and environments around us should support that.

In 2023, we received funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to support education for Black women on endocrine-disrupting chemicals in personal care products.

Sara also started a nonprofit focused on reimagining how health, caregiving, housing, and work can better support everyday life. Every Makery purchase helps support that work.

Looking ahead, we’re working toward a closer relationship with the plants we use, from growing to distillation, bringing more of the process closer to home.

Every purchase helps support community well-being.
