Made to be Reused

We chose glass for Makery Thirteen goods because it’s one of the most reusable materials available. It doesn’t hold onto scent, it doesn’t lose its quality over time, and it’s easy to clean and repurpose again and again. So when you finish a body butter or candle, the jar doesn’t have to be the end of its story.

If you’ve been holding onto any of our glass jars, bottles, or vials, we made a simple guide to help you get them ready for their next use.

Watch the video below to see exactly how we clean and prep them in our own space.

A simple way to reset your jar

Start by removing any leftover product.

  • For candle jars, a little warm water helps loosen any remaining wax. For body butter jars, warm soapy water usually does the trick.
  • Wash the jar, lid, and any removable parts with warm water and mild soap. Rinse well and let everything dry completely.
  • Once clean and dry, your jar is ready for whatever comes next...refilling, reusing, or simply giving it a second life around your home.

Why it matters

We design our packaging to stay in use, not end up in the trash after one use. Reusing glass is one small way to reduce waste and keep everyday routines a little more intentional.

Simple materials. Reusable design. Longer life.
